Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon partner with UNHCR and IMDb

24 11 2020

Celebrities including Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Neil Gaiman, Guillermo del Toro and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have taken part in the latest series of UNHCR and IMDb's Films of Hope, recommending a selection of films and calling for action to help the 'most vulnerable communities' affected by coronavirus by asking viewers to donate to the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the WHO, powered by the UN Foundation.

The first Films of Hope series was introduced by UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Cate Blanchett earlier this year, and Davis, whose personal film watchlist includes Billy Elliot and Selma, Akeelah and the Bee, commented 'My friend Cynthia and I have taken part in IMDb and UNHCR’s "Films of Hope" not just because we wanted to share with others the films that give us hope through these challenging times, but also to call for the world to come together in solidarity in the fight against Covid-19, and to help raise funds for the most vulnerable, including refugees'.
